Bicycle Bob, my cycling husband, is not like most of us on a bicycle. He loves hills, the steeper the better. On a trip last autumn in the Vaucluse region of Provence in southern France, he found a winner — a "mini Mont Ventoux" (the famous Tour de France mountain). That’s what a local called it. "It climbs. Sonora resident Virginia Marie Bartz died Aug. 20 at her daughter’s home in Sonora. She was 96. Born in Douglas, N.D., she worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in San Jose as the manager of the baby department for 17 years. She moved in Sonora in 1987.
